Museum Shop

We have a well stocked gift and souvenir shop located at the entrance to the museum with a wide range of gifts to suit every age and pocket.  Give us a thought when you are looking for unusual presents for family and friends, for birthdays, Christmas or other special occasions.

We also stock delicious tubs of ice cream for you to enjoy in the picturesque surroundings of the castle grounds.

Our stock includes a wide choice of nostalgic and old fashioned games for the whole family.  Having fun whilst teaching the children about numbers, letters and historical facts and figures just became easier.

Our castle display stand offers a range of pocket money gifts, toys, books and stationary and is always popular with children.

For the historical enthusiasts we stock a wider range of specific interest books such as Joseph Bradney’s Monmouthshire and titles by Arthur Machen.  We also stock many local history books, such as Frank Oldings ‘Abergavenny Pubs’, The Alexander Cordell series of books reprinted by Blorenge books and Abergavenny Local History Society publications such as ‘A Town Remembers’.  Children’s history books cover all periods in history.

Not forgetting knight and princess ‘wanna be’s’ we also stock dressing up clothes, alongside swords and shields for those children who want to defend the castle.

Many Welsh souvenirs are available from the Celtic Lands range, all displaying the symbolic Welsh Dragon.  These include mugs, coasters, tea towels, fridge magnets, jewellery, pens, cuff links, love spoons, playing cards, piggy banks and travel sweets, giving the visitor a permanent reminder of their visit to Abergavenny.

Robert Opie souvenirs are also popular with visitors as they give a glimpse into the past which bring back many memories.  For the visitor looking for a gift for the home, we stock enamelware and retro style cups, mugs, tea pots and milk jugs to brighten up your kitchen.
